AN ENERGY UPDATE FROM THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY

In 2017, Ohio State entered into a 50-year concession agreement as part of the university’s comprehensive energy management program, which transferred operation of the university’s steam, chilled-water, electricity, and natural gas plants and distribution networks on the Columbus campus to ENGIE Buckeye Operations on behalf of Ohio State Energy Partners ( a consortium of ENGIE North American and Axium Infrastructure U.S.). In addition to operations, Ohio State Energy Partners is also responsible for the development, installation, and financing of all energy conservation measures and other capital improvements and expansions of the campus utility systems. A key tenant of the partnership is to reduce the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) by at least 25% within the first ten years of the agreement. This update will be a joint presentation from the university and ENGIE to share recent progress on campus. Topics will include project highlights from completed, ongoing, and planned projects related to energy efficiency and campus expansion.
